     Qualifications

    - Graduated from accredited Montessori training program

    - Minimum 12 units of early childhood education that include: child development, child, family, and community, and curriculum

    - Minimum 2 years of experience working with children


    Responsibilities:

    - Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 3:00PM

    - Plan, supervise, and carry out an effective program for the class in accordance with the philosophy of the school and Montessori teachings.

    - Reports to the Director for supervision.

    - Maintain communication with parents - in person or email.

    - Conduct parent teacher conferences.

    - Gear the program to the needs of the individual children with concern for interests, handicaps, talents, etc.

    - Treat each child and staff member with care and respect.

    - Be responsible for the décor, appearance, and learning environment of the classroom.

    - Maintain petty cash receipts.

    - Send out a weekly newsletter via email to families in your classroom including but not limited to updates on the monthly theme, special activities and photographs of the children from the week.

    - Attend all staff meetings and recommended training programs, including in-service staff meetings.


    Compensation:

    - $30.00-$35.00/hr PLUS paid breaks based on experience, class size and completed course work.

    - 401K retirement benefit with 5% employer match.

    - Generous personal time off, holiday & vacation package provided in addition to 5 weeks paid vacation over school holidays

    - Ongoing training opportunities in addition to pre-authorized education contributions.

Teachers who complete their training courses are eligible for promotions and increases in compensation based on their current roles and future commitments. In addition to providing experienced teacher mentorship, in person classes and online training throughout the year. GLMS encourages all of our teachers to participate in ongoing education courses to both build their knowledge and help them grow in their careers.

  • ECE Teacher-Holding Hands Montessori, Concord CA

    We seek an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about working with children ages 2-6. The Lead Montessori Teacher position requires love, patience, and respect for children. Reporting to the Site Director, the Lead Montessori Teacher is responsible for managing a classroom of up to 15 students in a mixed-age classroom, and supervising the Assistant. He/she maintains all aspects of creating a dynamic Montessori learning environment in his/her classroom.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Pre-class preparation, including consultation with the Assistant and Director.

    Outline the projected daily routine, including any special activities.

    Ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times, including constant supervision.

    Receive students in a positive and welcoming manner while screening for wellness each morning.

    Track attendance, student in/outs, illness, injury, incidents, and other information for the Director.

    Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their child’s development and to determine goals. This may include helping to determine a child’s learning resource needs.

    Provide written reports of children’s progress and meet with parents two times per school year during parent-teacher conferences.

    Conduct circle time activities, including finger play, singing songs, and movement.

    Change the Montessori materials monthly to align with seasonal curriculum and according to the children’s current interests.


    Required Qualifications:

    12 units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.

    Authorization to work in the United States.

    Must be able to pass a Fingerprint Background clearance.


    Upon hiring, the Following Must be Completed:

    Negative TB test and must pass a health screening by a medical provider.

    Proof of Influenza, Pertussis, & Measles Immunization.

    Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training – valid within 2 years.

    CPR & First Aid Certification within 90 days of hire.

    Preventive Health Certification within 90 days of hire.


    Special Skills Needed:

    AMS or AMI Certification

    Demonstrated ability to remain calm and focused in a busy, child-oriented classroom and be a collaborative and supportive Teacher. The Lead Montessori Preschool teacher must always be kind, warm, polite, caring, and respectful.

    A clear commitment to the educational philosophy of the school as articulated in the mission statement of Holding Hands Montessori.

    Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking in English and Spanish.

    Excellent verbal and written skills, as well as outstanding interpersonal skills.

    Ability to work well with families and staff members of various backgrounds.

    Willingness to adapt to an existing curriculum as well as contribute ideas to enhance the respective academic programs.


    Compensation and Benefits:

    Hourly Wage: $28 to $31/hour, based on education and experience.

    Sign on bonus payable after 90 days of employment.

  • ECE Garden Teacher-Beginnings & Beyond, Concord CA

    We are a unique school weaving our faith in Christ into a Montessori prepared environment. The children learn from the Bible through hands on materials, learn grace during meal times, and teachers pray with the children as needed.


    We have all Montessori areas in the classroom and a kindergarten class.   Our aim is to have credential Montessori teachers fill every position at our school.  However sometimes we may have opportunities for others who do not hold their credentials yet.
